S.W.A.T. (Special Weapons and Tactics) is a specialized unit comprised of officers throughout the department and is utilized in situations such as a high risk warrant service, hostage situation, or other situations which may pose a greater than usual danger to officers. S.W.A.T. officers carry specialized equipment and receive specialized training to more effectively deal with these high risk situations.
