The City of Hobbs Technical Services Section is the primary answering point for all emergency and non-emergency requests for police, fire and emergency medical assistance in Hobbs. From a state-of-the-art emergency operations center, calls for assistance are answered by highly-trained Telecommunications Officers 24 hours a day.

Every report, citation, and numerous other documents filed by the Police Department are maintained by the recrods section and entered into databases.

Most records are available for public access Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

An arrest history containing any arrest information initiated by the Hobbs Police Department is available.  A picture identification is required and there is a $5.00 charge.

Fingerprinting is available for the public on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Persons must furnish their own fingerprint cards.  The cost of two cards is $5.00, three or more cards is $10.00.

Detention Facility

The Hobbs Police Department has a fifty (50) bed detention facility which houses both adult males and females.  It is also a temporary holding facility for juvenile offenders.

Individuals arrested by Hobbs Police Officers are brought to this facility for booking, and those convicted of violations of city ordinances are sentenced to jail time by municipal judges serve their time here.

Visitation Procedures:

All visitors will register at the desk in the police department lobby and provide some type of photo ID and provide the name of the inmate. Visitors will remain in the lobby after registration until their name is called. They will then be escorted to the visitation area.

The Hobbs Police Department maintains thousands of pieces of evidence necessary to ensure successful prosecutions. Each piece of evidence is entered into a computerized database and is tracked. Random inspections are conducted to ensure the evidence room's integrity.
